Empower Change Through Education

Your support can make a world of difference.

In Myanmar, where conflict and instability have made education a rare commodity, countless bright students face seemingly insurmountable barriers. For those from impoverished or marginalized backgrounds, the financial strain of tuition is often too great, preventing them from pursuing their dreams.

AUY offers a beacon of hope. As the only university in Myanmar providing a pathway to an American bachelor's degree, we enable students to begin their studies in Yangon and then transfer to one of our 17 partner universities in the U.S. Our commitment is to offer this rare life-changing opportunity to all students regardless of their ethnic, religious, and financial standing. Your donation will provide crucial support to students who face both economic hardship and the challenges of conflict, helping them to pursue a degree in the United States.

Stand with us in making a meaningful impact in times when it is most needed. Your support can make a world of difference.

Empower Change Through Education

Your support can make a world of difference .

Our
Commitments

We are committed to breaking down these barriers and ensuring that world-class education is not just a privilege for the few but a right for every talented student, regardless of their financial background. Our scholarships don’t just ease the burden—they eliminate it. They open doors for students from the most disadvantaged backgrounds, giving them the opportunity to unleash their potential, pursue their passions, and become the change-makers Myanmar so desperately needs.

Your Support

When you choose to support AUY, you’re not just giving money; you’re investing in the future of an entire country. You’re empowering a generation of young people to rise above the limitations of their circumstances and to dream, achieve, and lead. Every scholarship funded, every donation made, directly impacts the life of a student who otherwise might never have had the chance to reach their full potential. In a country where conflict and hardship make education a rare privilege, your support helps AUY stand as a beacon of hope, a symbol of what’s possible when we believe in the power of education to transform lives and rebuild nations.

Beneficiaries

The beneficiaries of the 2+2 program will be students aged 17 and 18 from conflict-affected and displaced communities. Priority will be given to those from regions with limited access to education and emotional support, particularly students affected by intercommunal violence and floods. Selection will be based on socio-economic needs, English fluency, and academic aptitude. This ensures that the students chosen not only require financial support but also possess the skills and potential to succeed in a challenging academic, intercultural, and international environment.

Fundraising Goals

The scholarship fund aims to support as many students as possible each year, with a commitment to fund at least one student per academic year. The scholarship will cover tuition, textbooks & educational materials, and living expenses for the first 14 months at AUY in Yangon and the final two years at a partner university in the United States. The total cost for one student is approximately $70,000, assuming no additional scholarships are provided by the U.S. universities, which sometimes are.

Our Commitments

But at AUY, we refuse to accept this reality.
